Design Ethos

Important principles we try to keep central to our work at all times.

Creative

Working on a new project is a chance to do something a little bit different that will bring delight to the people that use it. This might simply be within the laying pattern of a surface material, or by introducing a unique feature such as a large natural boulder for a client’s children to climb. Our artistic grounding means our designs are always approached from a creative angle.

Sustainable

There is an environmental consequence to every action we take.  Within our work we aim to minimise negative effects on the environment and maximise positive ones.  We like to think that at the end of every project we have given something back to nature despite the disruption that every project inevitably causes.

These positive effects can sometimes be difficult to quantify but here are some examples of what it means in practice:

Ethical

We believe people should be fairly paid for the work they do with us and for us. This is why we will never charge you a percentage on a Landscaping Contractor’s work.

We aim to make sure all our materials are responsibly sourced, reducing the social and environmental impact of what we do.

We are inclusive. We believe differences are to be celebrated and that diversity drives creation.

Beautiful

We find if we get the first three principles right, the fourth comes easily. Creating an environmentally sustainable garden does not mean you have to compromise on the aesthetics – in fact it is often quite the reverse. Choosing the right materials for your project will result in a subtle and refined palette that will give the scheme an elegant simplicity. Choosing plants for their environmental credentials does not restrict you to native species and you can consider your colour palette limitless.
