This is the garden of a family's much-loved holiday home that has been extended and modernised by Burd Haward Architects, so it needs to be multi-functional and low-maintenance. Good plant choices will reduce the amount of maintenance needed, and perennial grasses like Miscanthus will be key. There will be lots of places to sit and enjoy the view of the Dorset coast, or bask in the sun as it moves round the garden.
